Can you be my father-in-law

We began our week of ministry with a special visit from our patron, Pastor Albert Shitakwa, and his friend Kingston Ogango, the regional director of Alpha. It was incredibly inspiring to learn from their experiences and receive their encouragement. Later, we had a wonderful time at Treehouse Children's Home, where we enjoyed playing with the children and had a lot of fun.

On Tuesday, as we were preparing to start our ministry at Mwiki Community School, Jeff stepped out of the bus and was greeted by a drunkard who yelled, "Big Man!" The drunkard then commented on how many daughters Jeff had, referring to the ladies on the Royal Servants team. He boldly asked Jeff, "Give me your daughter..." 😂😂😂 When Jeff said no, the drunkard followed up with, "Can you be my father-in-law?" Jeff replied, "That's not gonna happen." Undeterred, the drunkard then asked, "Can I be your son-in-law?" To which Jeff responded, "That will never happen." 😂😂😂

We went on to have a meaningful time of ministry, though we were surprised by the learning environment at the school. Many of the classrooms lacked even basic furniture like benches and desks, and some students had to stand during classes in addition to the overcrowded dormitories. It was truly heart-breaking to witness these challenges.

Wednesday was a day of rest and cultural immersion for the Royal Servants team. We began the day with hopes of seeing elephants, but instead, we explored the villages of 23 different tribes across Kenya. The team had a wonderful time experiencing the diverse cultures and took part in some traditional dances.

Today’s ministry took us to Pricy Junior Educational Centre, where we continued with the second part of our teachings for small children and pre-teens. We focused on sharing the message that Jesus is the only solution to sin. At the school, a man from a nearby building approached Jeff, Kaylee, and Maurice, eager to find a way to volunteer and serve with our team. Although we don’t have any openings at the moment, we took the opportunity to share the Gospel with him, and he decided to accept Christ.
